How a Family Move Across the World Led to WellEngIQ’s First IWCF Training Centre

Two years ago, we did something wild.
We packed up our life, left everything familiar behind, and moved across the world with three kids in tow.

Why? Because we were offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to live in Damir’s (my husband’s) home country.
We said yes — before we could overthink it.

It was bold. It was messy. It was magic.

Those years gave us the one thing most people rarely get: space to breathe.
To step back from the daily grind.
To ask: What do we actually want this life to look like?

And the answer surprised us.

We realised we wanted to build something together — something with meaning, purpose, and impact.

That’s how WellEngIQ was born.
A new IWCF well control training facility based right here in sunny Brisbane.

We’ve quietly been pouring our hearts into it for the last 8 months.
It’s the kind of place we hope people actually enjoy doing their biannual training in (yes, really).

And Damir?
He’s back in the instructor seat where it all began — and in my totally unbiased opinion, he’s better than ever.
When we met 13 years ago, he already had sky-high pass rates. Now, with over a decade of operational experience behind him, I can’t wait to see what students say.

This is our full circle moment.
A homecoming.
A new chapter.

Our doors are now officiallly open and are running IWCF Level 3 and 4 Well Control Training both surface and subsea.

I’ll be sharing more of our story (and what we’ve learned along the way) in the coming weeks. Thanks for being part of it.
